Design Preface

Shown below is a brief tutorial on our new online dynamic card creation system. Please take a little bit of time and familiarize yourself with some of the design tools the system has to offer. This design panel has been credited by users and designers worldwide.

Card Printing Product Specifications

The specifications of our standard card printing are as follows:
STOCK: *.012 Gloss coated 2 sides, White #91 brightness
INK: Four color process, full bleed with online Aqueous coating
SIZE: Up to 26 x 40″ (25 X 38″ full bleed)
PREFERRED DESIGN MEDIA: Adobe Illustrator 10.0 and Adobe Photoshop 7.0
OUTPUT: Using FM line screen technology

1. Edit Line - When you wish to edit a specific line of text you must select the line first, then make your changes.
2. Type Size - There are 20 different type increments available ranging from 8 to 28. Click on the pull down menu and choose the type size of your choice. Please note different type styles appear differently when changing type sizes. Use this option wisely. When selecting script styles we recommend NOT using them for address or phone numbers.
3. Font choices - There are a total of 60 different font choices. Use the pull down menu to see all available font options.
4. View Fonts- Click this icon to see all design fonts that are available to you.
5. Type Formatting- Make type Bold - Simply check the box if you desire your font to be bold. Make Type Italic - Simply check the box if you desire your font to be italic. Make Type Underline - Simply check the box if you desire your font to be underlined. Add Drop Shadow to type - By checking the box you will add a drop shadow effect to the selected text.
6. Type Alignment - Click these icons when you want to make your line of type follow common format rules such as flush left, flush right or centered.
7. Line Placement - Allows you to move the type horizontally, 1 line increment at a time. Use the ruler located on the left side of your preview to determine exactly where you would like to place your line.
8. Edit Lines- These text fields are where you can make all typographical changes. Simply highlight the type you want to change and enter all of your type changes and click update proof.
9. Update Proof - Update proof is the button that executes all functions that you have input. You must click this button every time you want to execute changes of any kind. This button is found in two different locations on the control panel, as shown above.
10. Options- When you click this button more or less design options appear. When you are designing in “Less options” mode the button will read “More Options” and vice versa
11. Change Transparency - This icon visually represents the transparency effect
12. Change Color Transparency - The ability to change background transparency color really allows for an entirely unique appearance. If you find the background is too strong some good advice is to use the color White and apply a lighter transparency to it. It really makes the type stand out. You may also wish to add a drop shadow to the Company Name now.
13. Background Transparency Value - With this function you have a total of eight levels of transparency. There are four levels lighter and four levels darker. You also may choose from many different colors to create a totally unique background effect. We recommend you try this.
14. Stock Logos- We have an inventory of 58,000 logos. Logo categories include Education Schools, Electronics, Energy, Fantasy, Fitness, Flags, Gardening, Government, Health Medical, Holiday, Household, Interior, International, Kids Stuff, Landscape, Logo Elements, Maps, Meteor, Military, Money, Motivate, Music, Neighborhood, Occupations, Outdoor, People, Plants, Police, Public, Real Estate, Religion, Road Signs, Seasons Weather, Space Science, Special Occasions, Sports, Symbols, Technology, Time, Tools, Transportation, Travel, Trees, Western, and Zodiak. To use our stock logos you must first click “More Options”.
15. Logo Choice- After you have selected your logo of choice you will notice the file name appears in this text field. Click “Update Proof” and the logo will appear in your online design. If you wish to remove the logo and choose
16. Custom Logos - If you want to import a custom logo into your online design click the “Add Custom Logo” link. Here are the upload specifications:
    Upload Custom Logo or Image
    Logos must meet the following requirements to be used on this system:
    - The image must be a “gif” image. With a transparentbackground
    - The image dimensions cannot be larger than 200 x 200.
    - The total upload size of the image must be less than 10Mb.
    - NO .MPEGS, .MP3 OR .EXE Files accepted.
    - 10 Mb limit.
    - Maximum Upload Size is 10Mb per file
    - Allow up to 5 minutes per 10Mb for uploads on Cable or ADSL Connections.
    - Allow up to 50 minutes per 10Mb for uploads on Dial-up modem Connection.

17. Align Logo - To align your stock or custom logo your choices are Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right, Center and Set Transparent
18. Set Logo Transparency- By clicking this checkbox your logo will become 20% transparent.
19. Add Custom Background - Click this link to use your own custom background. The specifications for using your own background are as follows:

    Backgrounds must meet the following requirements to be used on this system:
    - The image must be a “png” image.
    - The image dimensions for a horizontal card design should be 571 x 330.
    - The image dimensions for a vertical card design should be 316 x 550.
    - The total upload size of the image must be less than 10Mb.
    - NO .MPEGS, .MP3 OR .EXE Files accepted.
    - 10 Mb limit. If you have problems uploading your file(s) please let us know
    - Maximum Upload Size is 10Mb per file
    - Allow up to 5 minutes per 10Mb for uploads on Cable or ADSL Connections.
    - Allow up to 50 minutes per 10Mb for uploads on Dial-up modem Connection.

20. Card Preview - This is where all design changes and alterations you make will appear.
21. Start Over - If you wish to start designing from the beginning click this button.
22. How To Use - By clicking this link you will simply return to these instructions you are reading. Our software is constantly being upgraded and new functions are being added, so if you are a regular user of this design Center then you should check this page on a regular basis.
23. Select Custom Stock Background - Use this pull down menu to select from our custom stock backgrounds. Some of our background styles include: Rad Black/white, Radiant Blue/ Yellow Brown, Radiant Green, Radiant Colors, Gray/ Black, Radiant Blue, Radiant Yellow/Red/Brown, Solid Black, Solid Burgundy, Solid Red, Solid Green, Solid Olive, Solid Pink, Solid Purple, Solid Blue, Dark Blue, Blue w Border, Ragged Edge Blue, Digital Rainbow, Texture Gold Border, Texture Gold Boxes, Texture Gray Scribble, Texture Leather, Texture Red Swirl, Texture Neon Border, Pink Yellow Border, Texture Purple Scribble, Texture Torn, Black Satin, Blue Bar, Blue Red Bar, Blue Sea, Brown Blue, Crinkle Globe, Green Gray, Green Bar, Blue Bar, Notebook and Paper.
24. Select Stock Background- Use this pull down menu to select from our theme template categories. This business card template menu includes these categories: Abstract, Art, Auto, Bar Tavern, Beauty Fashion, Boating, Business, Children’s Products, Computers, Construction.
25. Select Stock Background- Use this pull down menu to select from our theme template categories. This business card template menu includes these categories: Corporate, Crafts and Hobbies, Doctors, Entertainment, Florist, Food, Futuristic, High Quality, Holiday, Home Services.
26. Select Stock Background- Use this pull down menu to select from our theme template categories. This business card template menu includes these categories: Humor, International Business, Internet, Justice, Marketing, Medical, Music, Nature, Pets, Racing, Real Estate.
27. Select Stock Background- Use this pull down menu to select from our theme template categories. This business card template menu includes these categories: Restaurants, Shopping, Sports, Technology, Telecom, Video, Web Resources.
28. Update proof -Update proof is the button that executes all functions that you have input. You must click this button every time you want to execute changes. This button is found in three different locations on the control panel.
29. Save and Continue - When you are satisfied everything is perfect, and exactly the way you want it be click “Save and Continue”. You will go to the next page, where you will have you decide on your printing options such as: Go back and modify this card, Design another business card, Add additional names to the card already designed, I am done.
